Spherical Ropepots
My spherical range of Ropepots were designed for drought tolerant plants. I wanted to make a pot that almost looks after itself.
I was admiring sea thrift growing in small pockets on a rock close to the sea. They seemed to be growing on little more than dust. A small succulent plant was growing alongside, and both seemed to be thriving.
I started experimenting growing sedum's in rocks and driftwood with compost filled holes. Eventually I made my first Ropepot with some caving rope. The rootball area was probably a third of the size, compared to the Ropepots that I make now, but the plants seemed very happy there.
The Original Ropepot
Houseleeks, jovibarba, sedums and saxifrage can cope with drought, and need minimal maintenance, so are good plants to use.
